About the Author
Deny Dwi Nugroho
Born in 1983 in Sumberbening Village, Dongko District, Trenggalek Regency — a mountainous area where he spent his childhood flying kites in the fields, catching eels in the rice paddies, fishing and bathing in the river, and exploring the forest. This closeness to nature would later become the breath of all his work.
Raised in a family of educators, he was active in Scouting during junior and senior high — often camping in mountains, forests, and beaches. He completed a Management degree at the University of Jember, then had a career of more than 17 years in banking and in finance & accounting at an IT company in Jakarta.
His concern over the damage to nature and ecosystems drove him to write and publish children's books: introducing Indonesian nature, the traditions and customs of caring for nature passed down through generations, and the biodiversity of the archipelago to children in Indonesia and the world — for the sake of preserving nature for future generations.
